Kang Salim is a chicken and duck restaurant located in Semarang, Indonesia. The restaurant is so popular, getting 4.7 ratings from 138 reviewers on Google Maps.

VRDA helped them to develop a website that displays menus and provides other important information.

Feedback & revision

1. First phase was discussion and planning. In this phase, together with Kang Salim team, we identified the needs of the business and decided the website design and its optimum features. This phase ran almost 3 weeks, ranging from 12th December 2024 – 31st December 2024.
2. After that, we prepared all content and images we wanted to display in the Kang Salim website. The assets gathering phase was relatively quick because Kang Salim had previously provided access to these assets.
3. After we gather all of the assets needed, we then developed the website based on the design and features we had agreed upon previously. The development was about 8 days, starting from 1st January 2025 to 9th January 2025.
4. Once the development completed, we submited the design to Kang Salim team for corrections and revisions if there is any.
5. Revisions were done, and this process was repeated until the team was satisfied with the results.
6. Website is ready to launch.

The challenging thing on this project was we don’t have a clear guide on how the website will look like (no UI design). All we agreed upon was website references, therefore we needed to figure out the exact style of the website.

Highlighted Feature : Menu Filter

This feature is what make Kang Salim website special. A menu is a thing where you can only find in a food and beverage business website, not other industries.

Kang Salim has total of 69 menu and they are divided into “menu package”, such as “Paket Hemat” (Affordable Package), “Paket Kids” (Package for Kids), etc. And this is painful if a customer needs to scroll or swipe all the way just for looking for a food.

With this filter, users can see all of the menu in a category in just a second and get its information such as :

• Menu name
• Menu description
• Menu price

This will make a better user experience and will make the decision taken faster. No more painful scrolling and swiping.
